Hello Exhibitors,

Craig here. This message is for exhibitors only, as it regards setting up for Topekarama.

NEW INFO: We’ve had some special requests, and there are a couple of other things that weren’t addressed in the last message.

  • Someone has requested Pokemon stuff.

  • Someone has requested legos.

  • Someone has requested golden age western comics.

  • None of the tables will have coverings. You must bring your own table cloths or coverings.

  • We may have rain or other inclement weather during setup and during the show itself. Plan ahead. Hopefully, rain will hold off until after load-in on Friday afternoon/evening, and be finished by load-out after the show.

  • This one is a personal request. Please be respectful to each other and our customers. Roughly half of the population has just experienced a major let down, and some folks are very emotional at this time. Please be an adult and behave accordingly. We want the show to be FUN. We do not want any kind of arguments or fights at the show. Topekarama is still building an audience, and any kind of incident will only hurt the show. If you would like to speak with me before the show, please call and we’ll talk. 785-218-4374

FRIDAY SET-UP: Early setup is from 3-7pm on Friday, November 8. This is additional time for exhibitors to begin setting up displays, bring in merchandise, etc. If you have a large booth, we recommend utilizing this time. It is NOT mandatory.

SATURDAY SET-UP: Setup on Saturday will begin at 7:30 am, and will end when we open the doors to the public at 10:00 am.

CHECK-IN: The first thing when you arrive on Friday or Saturday will be to check in with Becky, myself, or one of our staff. We will show you to your booth and give you wristbands, etc.

LOAD-IN: Once you are checked in, you may begin loading your stuff into the Ag Hall. This can be accomplished by using the garage door on the west side of the building or by using the main entry doors on the south side of the building.

PARKING: The parking lot due West of the Ag Hall is “our” parking lot. Please park toward the middle or as far West as you can. Let’s leave the parking spots close to the Ag Hall for our customers.

FOOD: PLEASE READ! You CANNOT bring food into the Ag Hall after 10:00 on the morning of the show. Exhibitors may bring in their own food and drink, but MUST DO SO before the show starts at 10:00 Saturday. Ag Hall personnel will not let you bring in food or drink after 10am. This is a rule of the Ag Hall, not of Fancon Central, so please be aware.

WRISTBANDS: Each exhibitor will receive up to two (2) wristbands for each booth they occupy. We ask that you only take what you need for yourself and your helpers. Anything above your entitlement, you will have to pay $5 each for. Here is an example: you have two booths which gets you up to 4 wristbands, but between you and your help, there are 6 people. You would need to cover the cost of two wristbands for your two extra people at a total cost of $10.

  5. Downloadable flyers – The Topekarama homepage now has a link to get a printable PDF flyer. Anyone can get them. There are two flyers per sheet. If you want to give one to your friends, family, or co-workers, please do so. Help spread the word! Click here

  6. Please share – Each person reading this can help get the word out. Forward the mass emails (not this one), follow, like, and share posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. Like and share our YouTube video, too! It’s on the channel now!

  7. Updated YouTube video – If you haven’t seen it yet, please give it a view. I’ve linked to it below. It’s an updated version of last year’s spot. If you like it, please share it out to your social media of choice.

  8. Click GOING on the Facebook event – You’ve signed up and paid to have a booth. You ARE GOING, so please visit the Facebook event and click GOING. The more people who do this, the better it is for the show. Here is a shortcut to the FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE.

  9. Fort Riley and the military – Again, the show falls on Veteran’s Day weekend, and so all active military, reserves, and veterans will get free admission with proof of service. Spread the word!

  10. #topekarama – Hashtags are nice. If you post about the show, feel free to use the official hashtag! #topekarama

  11. A successful show – Everything is swinging our way at the moment, but we all need to keep up the intensity and do everything within our powers to help get the word out. The mantra is “like and share” and “print and distribute”.

  12. Social Media “story” – Is now posted @kcfancon on Instagram, and on our youtube channel.

  13. MP3 file – the music we created for the show.

If you’ve made it this far, then I owe you a great thank you. What follows is the new flyer, and the YouTube video. Reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Over and out. – Craig
